Officials of the Ministry of Defense gave special information about the programs to be held on 26 January. Officials said that this time the Republic Day celebrations will be held at the renovated Central Vista Avenue and the government has put 32,000 tickets for online sale to the public.
The ministry informed that for the first time all official invitations for this ceremony will be sent online.
Ministry officials said that a 120-member Egyptian military contingent will also take part in the ceremony. However, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) had said in November that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi would be the chief guest at the Republic Day celebrations on January 26. The Foreign Ministry had said in a statement, 'This is the first time that the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt will be the chief guest on our Republic Day.'

This will be the first Republic Day function to be held at the ceremonial boulevard after Rajpath was renamed as 'Kartavya Path' last year. Dress rehearsal for the parade was done on Wednesday. The Defense Ministry said in a statement that the ceremony will feature 23 tableaux - 17 from states and union territories, and 6 from various ministries and departments - showcasing the country's rich cultural heritage, economic and social progress, and strong internal and external security. Defense Secretary Giridhar Armane on Wednesday during a press briefing at South Block briefed on the celebrations to be held from January 23-31 as part of the Republic Day celebrations. Officials told that these people will be specially invited and they will be made to sit prominently on the path of duty.
42 thousand people expected to attend this year
A senior ministry official said, 'Before Kovid-19, more than 1 lakh people used to attend the Republic Day celebrations. But in the years after 2020, this count was reduced significantly. Around 42,000 people are expected to attend this year and 32,000 tickets have been booked online for seats in the event. The Defense Secretary said that the celebrations will start with a grand program on the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on January 23 and will continue till the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi (January 30).

This year many new programs are being organized under the Republic Day celebrations. Famous singer Kailash Kher will perform in the Republic Day programme. Entry to the event will be free and tickets can be booked online through a portal. Bharat Parv will be organized by the Ministry of Tourism on the theme of public participation at Gyan Path in front of Red Fort from 26-31 January. In this, Republic Day tableaux, performance of military bands, cultural performances, All India Food Court and Crafts Bazaar will be displayed.

Tickets for this program can be booked on amantarn.mod.gov.in. Sale of tickets, admission cards, invitation cards and car parking labels are being issued online through this portal.
